They just started in July. Any reviews yet?

I know the word is that the Regatta's "inaugural" voyage was July 5,
but I saw the damn thing in Copenhagen in May and it certainly
appeared to have passengers on it. It pulled in right behind my
cabin (aft balcony cabin on the Constellation) during the night, so it
was right under my nose, and we walked by it on our way into town. I
don't know what the story actually is, maybe a private-party shakedown
cruise or something.
Anyway, we were gaga over it -- it really looks beautiful. We didn't
even try to ask to look inside, as we could have done ten years ago,
but the interior looked elegant from what we could see through the
windows and doors.

Hi Mason,
The ship did indeed sail for a few months prior to joining Oceania.
It was on charter to another company that sold cruises on her.
Best regards,

Ahh, that explains it. They already had the "Oceania" logo on her,
though.

I received their brochure & all looks wonderful, excep the cabin sizes
- 195 sq. ft. for a veranda cabin sounds pretty teeny to me - any
thoughts?

We sailed on this ship when it belonged to Renaissance & also thought it
was beautiful.
We had a veranda cabin & were very comfortable. Oceania cruises are very
port intensive - you wont have too much time to spend in the cabin.

I was quite happy with the size of my regular minumum cabin on the lowest deck
when I was on the R-7. In fact, I had a full sized bicycle with me (who needs
shore excursions when you can "roll your own") and was easily able to store it
in the cabin with me.

Hmm, the webpage says that verandah cabins are 216 sq. ft. and
standard outside cabins are 165. Also, Pacific Princess cabins are
listed at 216 and 160-165.
I am comfortable in 165 sq. ft. of cabin space if it's well laid out
and suitcases fit under the bed (although obviously 190 is better).

There is a good deal of information coming in right now at the
www.Cruisemates.com website as Ms Campbell is currently onboard the Regatta
and sending in photos and articles for a "Virtual Cruise" feature article on
this sailing. I myself have cruised on the R-3 when it was under Ren and
found the ship very nice and the cabins wonderful!.

My suitcases did fit under the bed (but the bicycle did not...)

Hi Norm!
I returned from the "Regatta" this past weekend.
In short: An excellent upper-premium cruise experience with the best
food I have ever had at sea. The ship has been upgraded significantly
through little touches (and some bigger ones), and considering that it
has been operating for less than six months only, it is already a
superb product. I would sail with Oceania again in a heartbeat!

We also have a complete three part feature article from a couple of our
staff that were on there, about the same time as you Raoul! The complete
three part article can be found at this URL:

There are also photos taken that you can view.
