My wife & I stayed at the ROYAL HOTEL.....about 25 dollars/ night and it
includes a MASSIVE breakfast buffet. The hotel is very close to the Royal
Palace...It has a pool & AC. I booked them online...
Enjoy your trip...

I would like to recommend the "Baiyoke Sky Hotel" (AKA Baiyoke II tower).
Located in downtown BKK, very clean and luxurious, big rooms, unique view
(Thailands highest tower) and not pricey to Western standards.
More info on: http://www.baiyokehotel.com/index.html
Some personal pictures of my visit to the hotel can be found on my

The dinner buffet on the 77th floor is a great way to spend an
evening. I was there last night. The buffet is located in the centre
of the floor with the tables around the outside by the windows, so you
get a fantastic 360 degree view of Bangkok as you walk around
selecting your food.
The cost for non-hotel residents is 410 Baht, and there's a huge
variety of Asian and other International dishes. The only comment I
would make is its probably not the best choice if you're looking for
good local Thai food.
