Can anyone advise on obtaining a Chinese Visa when in Vietnam.
Thanks in advance.

The Chinese embassy is in Hanoi, of course. If you're on a tight
schedule you might want to e-mail them to find out what the current
processing time is (it takes a week at the consulate here in Toronto,
but you can speed things up with a bit more of the green).
This is supposed to be their e-mail:
It might work, and you might even get an answer.

For what it is worth: I got a Chinese entry visa in Hanoi in July 2004.
Processing time was one working day. (drop-off passport on Monday, pick up
with visa on Tuesday) Cost: USD 50.
