(Hong Kong ---Auckland---Christchurch)
1. Christchurch : 2 nights...drive to Glacier (Apex or Budget car rental)

2. Fox or Franz Josef : 2 nights or 3 nights (wish stay at Fox because the
glacier is easy to walk) ....drive to Queenstown

3. Queenstown : 3 nights.....drive to Te Anau

4. Te Anau : 2 nights or 3 nights (mainly travel to Doubtful
Sound).....drive to Dunedin

5. Dunedin : 3 nights (return the rental car here)
(Duedin---Auckland----Hong Kong)

If you have an extra day, perhaps spend it in Christchurch.
Take a day trip to Hanmer Springs or whale watching at Kaikoura.

Are you from Hong Kong?
I am from Hong Kong too, tried a backpacking trip there a year ago.

Recommend you a place, Marlborough Sound. Highly Highly recommend you to
spend some days there if you manage to have spare days.
