Hello,

I'm currently planning a 5 week NZ, AUS trip and wondering whether
or not to go to the Bay of Islands and Abel Tasman.

The scenery looks awesome from the pictures I've seen but if you were
to pick one over the other which one would you pick ? Our schedule
can't really fit in both, and we can we can only spend one night in
each.

As well are the Bay of Islands similiar to the WhitSunday Islands ?

Thanks

I've been to both. It depends on what you are interested in and how you
plan to see them. The Abel Tasman has a world-famous trail for trekking.
It's VERY easy and it absolutely spectacular! There are huts along the way
that you can reserve (but book way in advance) or you can camp. Many people
also kayak the route, or combine tramping with kayaking. The Bay of Islands
is best seen by boat.

Can't answer your last Q, as I haven't been to the Whitsundays. Sorry.
