FDR Pebbles

Can anyone give advice (good or bad) on FDR Pebbles in Jamaica?

We will be travelling with our almost 2 yr old daughter in January 2006. We
are planning to go with another couple who have 2 children ages 4 and 2. We
don't expect luxury accomodations (esp for the price) - we usually go to
Club Med and find that level of accomodation just about right. We want to
try something different this year - plus there are so few choices for
families with small kids that include childcare!

Specifically:
- how are the nannies? Would we be able to get a little couple-time without
worrying about our daughter? Would also want to get out on some 1/2 day
tours.
- how is the food? We are adventurous eaters and enjoy jamaican food.
- how is the staff? Helpful? Friendly? We realize that we would be on
island-time.

TIA

We stayed at Franklyn D Resort in 2000. It was pretty nice. Not as
upscale as
Club Med, but a nice small beach, very nice nannies, and the activities were
more
suited for the younger kids. The nannies were included during the day, and
would
also babysit in the evenings for additional pay, allowing you to visit the
piano bar
or disco. The Disco was relatively unused except on the weekend.
The buffet food was okay, the reservation restaurant was better, but we
only went once.
The staff was nice. As our first AI with kids, it took a change of mindset,
but
we got into the rhythm.
