Apple Juice Tantrum Causes Plane To Make Emergency Landing

A child's tantrum onboard a Delta commuter flight forced a pilot to make
an emergency landing at Philadelphia International Airport.

The forced landing was caused by a fight over apple juice.

A 4-year-old wanted apple juice and when the stewardess didn't get it
quick enough, the child threw a tantrum, NBC 10 reported.

The Delta commuter flight landed around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The flight originated in New York and was headed to North Carolina
before the incident.

Passengers were spending the night in Philadelphia, NBC 10 reported.

Authorities said there would be no charges filed in the incident.

June 26, 2007 - An unruly passenger forced a flight to make an emergency
landing at Philadelphia International Airport Tuesday afternoon,
authorities said.

The Delta Comair flight had departed from New York at 4:25 bound for
Greensboro/High Point in North Carolina. The flight was diverted to
Philadelphia shortly before 5:00 p.m.

According to authorities, a passenger became unruly over service on the
plane and attacked a flight attendant. He apparently wanted some apple
juice and did not get it fast enough.

Philadelphia fire personnel and medics were initially dispatched to the
scene. The aircraft made a normal landing, resulting in the fire
apparatus being recalled, but medics remained on location and police
were summoned.

Passengers were allowed to leave the plane shortly after 5:30. The
suspect was taken into custody, but authorities decided later not to
file any charges against him.

The 51 passengers who were aboard the plane at the time will be spending
the night in Philadelphia. They will continue on their way to North
Carolina on Wednesday.

The articles I read said it was an adult, not a child.
