Quite to the contrary. Although most Europeans are exposed to the nasty
cheap mass-market swill that passes for "beer" in the USA, there are in
fact a *lot* of very small breweries that make very credible beers in
many styles. We have ales that would please British beer drinkers,
decent lagers, even special beers quite similar to Belgian styles.

Depends on where in New England. Some parts are better for this sort of
thing than others are. Boston and Portland (Maine) come to mind.

We also get imports in good shape from all over Europe.

If I want European Beer - I go to Europe :-)

Still, it puts paid to "they don't sell beer [in America]."
