Default Winter in Las Vegas

Those of you who cruise out of the Port of Las Vegas (Henderson arm)
might be interested to know that we have around 4" of snow in the
yard at the moment, with more predicted by morning. Flights destined
to land in LV were canceled this afternoon due to low visibility,
including flights departing LV. We were in TX visiting the kids and
made it into the air from Phoenix just in time to avoid the landing
hold, so we got home only about an hour later than expected.

With our roads being so sloped, the wet snow is ice-like and it's a
good time to stay home and let it melt off. OTOH, the snow on our
palms is both unusual and quite attractive.

My family flew to Las Vegas on Christmas morning, about 14-15 years
ago, and they had 2-3 inches of snow on the ground. The city almost
came to a screeching halt. lol

We stayed in the Luxor, which had just been built, and the windows on
the bottom three floors of the hotel were leaking, because the snow
had accumulated on the glass and the snow was melting. It was an
interesting Christmas. My youngest son called yesterday, to remind me
about how it snowed in Vegas.

My sister, Karen, lives in the suburbs of Minneapolis / St. Paul. 2 or
more years back they got 14-15"of snow. Right now it's - 8 F in
Woodbury on the St. Paul side.
