VLM Airlines in French-Dutch takeover

Mon 24/12/07 - The successful Flemish airline is bought by the Franco-
Dutch group Air France-KLM.
VLM Airlines offers flights between Antwerp and London City Airport,
and also between Antwerp and Manchester.

VLM has even become the biggest airline operating at London City.

Air France and KLM announced on Monday that they will take over the
Flemish airline, but did not mention a budget.

VLM is part of the Dutch Panta Holdings. Jaap Rosen Jakobsen of Panta
Holdings said that VLM Airlines is "a jewel among the regional
airlines."

"I am proud about this latest development which will offer VLM more
chances under the wings of Air France and KLM," he added.

VLM Airlines employs 400 people.
