This thread - on that website - appears to have just a fraction of the
replies that have been offered here. No wonder, that OP doesn't get
back and enjoy this nice conversation.

There is a similar one tapping into uk.rec.sailing. The owner of the
forum
explained how he deleted/censors some posts. He managed to delete the two
of the
best answers to a question posted by one of his forum subscribers.

It ****es me off. Last time I checked I appear, like most
regulars on usenet, on about 40 travel, diabetes and other
web-sites with "forums" like that.

I also appear on some sites that seem totally unrelated to
my two major areas of interest. Google yourselves, using
your nick or sig or something that appears in most posts you
make. You may get a shock.

Of course complaining is pointless, but I tried to by
joining Travel.com just now and posting in this thread.

Unfortunately, it must be approved by a moderator, so it
won't appear via that site. At least the moderator will
know.

I long ago gave up caring what they do in general but it does seem
ridiculous to
forward questions to real newsgroups and then censor the answers so that
the
original poster doesn't see them. If I see a question that originates from
one
of these forums, I ignore it.
