Hitler started his political growth in Bavaria.
That said, Ratzinger was drafted into the German Army during World War 2 and
defected, so I think that the connection is inappropriate.
Ratzinger's priesthood postdates the horrible job the Catholic Church did
handling the holocaust.
I have no reason to like Ratzinger, but I think the original implication
was inappropriate (Hitler I).
