Hi:

I am booked on the Radiance of the Sea which was briefly switched from
San Diego to Ensenada for embarkation when the port filled up. However,
after multi complaints from the passengers who booked it from San Diego
(and by the time we got the word of the change in embarkation there were
no alternatives available if we cancelled and booked another line) and
the inconvenience the transfer would be plus they wanted to charge us
for the transfer ($70 pp), they said the transfer would be comped. Then
I think the "suits" put the pencil to the paper and decided that it
would be cheaper for them to sit out in the Pacific until the three
other ships left and come into port to pick us up. No providing free bus
service to Ensenada (plus hiring additional personnel to facilitate it),
no having to provide meals on Sunday (other than, I hope, some kind of
embarkation buffet) and a happy crew who will have lots of time to do
housekeeping and happy waiters who won't be serving food. Our departure
time has been moved to 11:00 p.m. They have eliminated Acapulco from the
itinerary and added Puerto Vallarta in its place. We are just hoping
that there won't be any more changes. While I had planned to come in a
day early before, now we will arrive the day of departure since the late
embarkation gives us a good amount of wiggle room. It will also allow
us to attend a football game in Austin (Hook 'em Horns) October 22nd
which we had planned to skip .
