BA stewardesses not charged
The two members of British Airways cabin crew who were thought
to be under the influence of alcohol in Helsinki are not going to be prosecuted. Apparently only the breathalyzer test was positive, but a blood test which was taken later was negative. The breathalyzer test probably was still not erroneous though, because the blood work was done a few few hours later. Well, I hope they learned something from this episode... -- Mikko Peltoniemi Film & Video Editor, Avid Technician at large. http://editor.is.dreaming.org |

Maybe they learned not to use mouth freshner sprays containing alcohol?! Under UK law at least they are assumed innocent until proven guilty. |

There are substances which can give false signals to breathalisers, which is why people are allowed to demand blood tests too. I have no idea whether they were guilty or not and I suspect you don't either. |

And there are a lot of things that cause impairement, but don't show up in a breathalyzer. In any case, breathalyzer was not the thing that first prompted attention, but the second thing. -- Mikko Peltoniemi Film & Video Editor, Avid Technician at large. http://www.discountcadavers.com |
