How 'bout that flight. Idiots slapping you with their bags in the aisles.
Overhead bins crammed to the limit. More idiots smashing your bags to
squeeze theirs into the bin. People whining and bitching that there's no
more room. Why don't they just put more seats and overheads in the planes
cargo hold?

Aren't these baggage fees wonderful?

They're selling that space to air-cargo shippers.

Just wait until the XMAS travel season. Far fewer flights, much higher
fares, and people won't want to pay the $15 to check luggage. This will
be the first major travel season with the luggage fees.

If everyone brings a roller-board size carry-on then the flight
attendants will be do a lot of baggage checking right at the gate, and
that will all be fee-free.

I think Thanksgiving week will givew us he first clue.

That's a good idea. We'll have to see what happens when that process starts
delaying departures.

They like to use the hold for cargo, as this can be a money maker for
them.

Yes and no. Don't mind it on G9, as there low $29 one way fares make
up for it. Also don't mind it on DL, as I think they allow you to
check one bag for free. Of course if I flied WN more than once every
15 years I would really like them.

I guess I spoke too soon, as I just read the following.

"Atlanta-based Delta says that effective immediately, for traffic on
or after Dec. 5, customers flying within the U.S. will be charged $15
for the first checked bag and $25 for the second checked bag when
traveling domestically, consistent with Northwest's existing
policies."

Makes it sound like everyone has to pay this fee, regardless of when
you booked your ticket.
