Try this for size. http://www.bcl.com.au/sydney/tours/thredbo.htm

The Ski fields eg Snowy Mountains are to far away from Sydney for a one day coach/rail return trip.

Ian,
Thanks, Good link, exactly what I needed to know. It's a bit far, I
think it's better to stay put and really give Sydney all the time it
deserves.
Thanks.

You must be from Sydney. Winter in *sydney* isn't cold, but plenty of
Australia is.

Most of Aus isn't "Miami +5 degrees" in winter.

Hi Almost
It's OK, I get it. Can't ski near Sydney. BTW it's in the 90's here in
Miami today. I lookm forward to some weather that's a bit cooler, I'd
like to wear Jeans and a sweater!

duh,
the op said Sydney, than replies say Sydney, and everyone except you is able
to understand that this thread is about the possibility of skiing near
Sydney. The rest of Aus doesnt matter. nor do dumbass replies.
Sydney in winter is about 5 degrees warmer than miami in winter, so water
skiing is not impossible.
