I always want to win one of the helicopter tours around the island. It
won't be as much fun as it once was when you could fly anywhere, but it just
looks really cool.

You can do tours from five minutes ($49 per) up to 30 minutes ($275 per
person)

Or just win on the Apprentice and take a flight.

I think I would rather take the LIE and the Van Wyck then spend that
kind of money. Altho it would be a very cool helicopter ride.

It's UGLY getting from JFK to anywhere... with or without luggage. The
roads there are among the worst this side of Bolivia. The Belt Parkway,
Long Island Expressway and Van Wyck are legendary.

As one who was born and lived up the Van Wyck from JFK for the first 21

years
or so of my life ... I can attest that there are indeed problems ... but

the
poster is coming from California ... New York traffic legends meet their

match
when compared to California stories ...

Got me there.

Pity you did not make your problem clear at the beginning.

It sounded like you already had booked the EWR/Amsterdam flight!

If I knew you hadn't, I would have strongly suggested you connect via
Philadelphia ... which has great non-stop service to Amsterdam and
California [and all Philadelphia terminals are inter-connected]!

I'm trying out the new AirTrain for my JFK departure next week. The
'A' train(subway) to Howard Beach and then the AirTrain. Hopefully the
trip will be less ugly than before.

Not a bet I would take, and it will cost you an additional $5
