UK terror plot consequences

Forget about bringing any liquid or semi-liquid substance onboard a plane again, including toothpaste. Back in 1992 if I remember correctly, there was some plot to threathen the pope's visit to the Phillipines. Airlines had a ban on things like toothpaste for all trans pac flights. A week later, I flew to NZ and had no problem bringing on toothpaste and there was no special questions at security. This event is a diversion of attention, and once the media stop focusing on this, politicians will very quietly remove the limitations. Someone else made the point about duty free booze. I think the lobby will be quite strong to remove those silly limitations. Note: you might as well ban all caramilk chocolate bars. What if someone removed the caramel and replaced it with the chemicals to make a bomb ? While on the planbe, he just needs to use a cup, break each square to let the chemicals flow into the cup, and voila ! KABOOM. And right now, the only way to smuggle booze on board is to buy chocolate with cognac or other booze inside :-) |

Now that the pipeline in Alaska is broke, the gas prices will rise and the economy will tank, Bush needs someone to blame. So he went after the Muslims again Don't laugh. It is only time before they blame the corrosion of the oil pipeline on arab developped bacteria that were set free on that pipeline. |

BTW can you produce evidence of there being NO plot or are you so biased beween the ears you say any crap. Politicians make damned sure that nobody could prove this was a hoax. And they will stain anyone,s reputation if such a person does mount a creditble attempt and demonstrating it was a hoax. However, you need to consider that when the police arrest a drunken driver, it normally doesn't make it to even the local newspaper. So when they arrest some angry teenagers who were playing with chemicals and joking about using them to blow up airplanes, there was NO NEED TO MAKE IT ***SO*** PUBLIC. The govermments have clearly used this small story to make it very big news. And that is the part that is questionable. GGovernments have known forever that anyone intent on destroying an aircraft could use a variaty of measures that are not being checked. The real solution doesn't lie in progressively checking passengers all the way to intra urinary inspections, the real solution lies in removing the condistions/policies that drive people to want to blow up such planes. And today, Bush, the idiot, went one step further by blaming ISLAM (islamic fashists). Insult a religion and see how fast its members start to hate you even more. |
