Thanks to all who replied. I got the information I needed. I was looking for
"hidden costs", I expect taxes, port charges, tipping, & alcohol. I was
looking for what hotels do these days, "resort fees", etc.

Figure $10 per person per day for tips if you are calculating down to

that
level.

For an 11 day cruise that's $220 - not what I would call nickel and
dime level.

Try Motel 6 and a stop at Disneyland. The $10 tip has been around for

years and
is considered part of the cost of the cruise.

It was established due to low life pax who stiffed the help.

899+110+tax+port charge x 2 . If you can't afford it, DON"T GO

The OP just asked what extra costs he could expect presumably so that
he would know if he COULD afford it. That is not what I would call an
unreasonable question, nor would I call $110 per person an
insignificant additional cost.

Most of the answers said that there wouldn't be any additional costs
as long as he didn't drink, or take the shore excursions or eat at the
extra price restaurants. The other persons seemed to be saying that
the taxes and the port costs might be included. But they didn't
mention tips.

I don't see why mentioning tips should get Motel 6 and a stop at
Disneyland (which is not exactly low cost either) and low life pax as
a response.

From the sound of your reply, it seems that you & I will be about the only
couple who don't run up an enormous tab at the end of the cruise.
What is the Sleazy 3? That's a new one to me.

Once we are on the ship ( excluding tipping ) our extra charges are 0.

We are not drinkers, the free iced tea, coffee & lots of water is all we
need.

We do not go to the casino.

We do not take ship excursions. There are plenty of taxis available at
the ports.
We even enjoy the empty ship when docked in port.

We do not eat in the specialty restaurants.

We do not shop in the gift shops onboard.

We do not use the overpriced spa services.

We will be on the Sleazy 3 & expect to have a great time. There is so
much available that is free. Food, entertainment, movies, library etc.
Most of all, we will be sailing with new friends.

Our TA George gave this cruise the name "Sleazy" because it sails out of
the Big Easy & it's the third time he's organizing it.
A group of us here on rtc are going. Sailing on the Carnival Conquest
Oct. 31 to the western caribbean.

A few years ago, Peter Bugda wanted to cruise out of New Orleans and he
booked his cruise through George Leppla. Quite a few of us decided to
tag along with Peter, so he designed a logo for the cruise and he named
it "Sleazy In The Big Easy". You can click on the Sleazy3 link to see
this year's logo (this is the 3rd Sleazy cruise). Peter has not been
feeling well, but he is still a talented artist.
