Is it any wonder that airlines often seem to have problems? Their practice
of repricing fares repeatedly does not make for happy clients. I made a rservation three days ago for my wife and me and now the price is $50 lower per person. Naturally, there is no way for me to take advantage of the lower fair unless I want to have the tickets reissued. The cost for this? You guessed it, $50. These prices are for the same flight, traveling the same distance etc. I could have somebody sitting in the next seat who paid less just because the price changed today. Of course, the fare tomorrow may be higher again. You can never tell when you should buy a ticket. No wonder that I try to avoid flying as often as possible. |

Amtrak changes fares daily, and gasoline prices can swing rapidly, too. |

While I agree that the prices are confusing and seem to change with the wind, why are you complaining? If the price you paid did not seem reasonable to you, why did you pay it? Someone will always have paid less than you (or more) for a given thing. You can wear yourself out worrying that someone else got a better deal than you did. A week after I bought some tickets for an upcoming vacation, I found the same routing and dates for a couple hundred less, so what? I paid what I deemed a very resonable price and while I would love to have saved a couple hundred more, I accepted the price I paid when I made the deal. Life is too short to angst over this sort of thing. Maybe next time you'll hesitate, waiting for that next great deal and find they aren't there and you end up paying more.... Jim P. |

A few days ago I filled the tank of my car - Today gas prices went down but I can't get a refund based on the new, lower price. |

The decision as to waiting to buy airline tickets is a gamble both ways.
You sure wouldn't be complaining if the prices of travel had increased. Fares go down due to limited time fare sales and changes in the marketplace with competing air carriers. You must have felt comfortable at the price you paid, otherwise you would have held off making the purchase. "Len" wrote in message ... Is it any wonder that airlines often seem to have problems? Have you checked to see if the airline will issue you a travel voucher for the difference between the fares? Some airlines do this, but most consumers are unaware of it. |

What does this have to do with *anything*??? Are you saying that if you went to your local grocery store and bought a steak for $5 and the next day the store put on a sale for steaks at $4 you would quit eating steak???? Why are you worried about what somebody else paid? You saw a price, decided it was worth it, and bought the tickets. What difference does it make if the guy next to you saved $50? Does that hurt your feelings? If you found out that he paid $50 *more* would you gloat about being a superior human being? |
