ONE WAY TICKET cheaper than CHANGE TICKET
Tried to change my return on AA on a recent trip to FL......
and was told that it would be cheaper to buy a ONE WAY TICKET than to pay the $100 change fee plus the difference in fares. Is this absolute CRAP or what??????????? the ONE WAY fare was almost 100% of my original RT ticket!!!!!!!! these damn airlines dont get any sympathy from me for anything...... I sure wish I had a biz where I could stick it to them like they stick it to their "customers"......... |

Without explaining the full reasoning behind this, did you miss this in all of the years it has been going on? It's nothing new. For what it's worth. I am not going to complain. I am flying roundtrip from California to DC next week for $202 roundtrip. I flew from SFO to Dublin at the end of October for $500. Flexibility is cheaper. In your case, you plans were no longer as flexible, so the price was higher. |

Next time buy a changeable tiicket..or do a price comparison beforehand or buy travel insurance if the reason you needed to change was one they'd cover. If you want the lowest fares, you play the game their way. I've seen some cases where a nicely changeable ticket was only a few per cent more than the el cheapo, you just have to look. Jim P. |

Last week I moved my CO flight a day back. Since I had a refundable ticket, there was no extra charge. You get what you pay for. |
