Crime up Down Under
Since Australia's gun ban, armed robberies increase 45%

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By Jon Dougherty
© 2008 WorldNetDaily.com

Since Australia banned private ownership of most guns in 1996, crime has
risen dramatically on that continent, prompting critics of U.S. gun
control efforts to issue new warnings of what life in America could be
like if Congress ever bans firearms.

Complete and utter garbage!

Is this how the American gun lobby operates? Just making up statistics and
telling lies? Do they think they can say this sort of thing and get away
with it just because Australia is on the other side of the world and they
rely on Americans not to know what really happens over here?

Anyone who lives in or pays any attention to Australia would know that there
is nothing in this article from "WorldNet Daily" which is true. It's contary
to all published facts and all anecdotal experience over here. It is total
fiction.

Here is just *one* of numerous reports that have been published in Australia
in recent years about the success of the gun restrictions introduced after
the Port Arthur massacre.

http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/...180487704.html

In addition, the Australian Bureau of Statistics website
http://www.aic.gov.au/publications/rpp/77/ says "In 2005-06, there were 283
incidents of homicide, resulting in 301 victims and committed by 336
offenders. Since 2001-02, there has been a downward trend in the incidence
of homicide, however during the current year, it has increased by 14%
compared to 2004-05. This represents an increase of 34 homicide incidents.
The overall trend in the incidence of homicide has remained stable over the
17-year period since the Australian Institute of Criminology began
monitoring in 1989."

So, the only crime that occurs in Australia is homicide?

No matter how I try, I cannot make sense of this reply.

How did you reach that conclusion and what point are you attempting to make?

It's what appeals to whitetrash Americans.

They also believe that they are winning in Iraq....

They can't cope with the truth.

Guess that I'd believe the reputable Australian national broadcaster
before I'd believe an american pensioner who, to be frank, displays
symptoms of early-onset Altzheimers.

You were Frank yesterday. It's your turn to be Emily.

You lying trash saw your crime rates soar when you were practically forced
at gunpoint to report crime by world standards instead of selective
reporting practiced since you ****en criminal gringos got there. I hope the
Abos use knouts and cattle prods on you as they strip you clean.

Have they emptied your concentration camps yet?

They lied their asses off from the beginning about crime. Who do you think
the first gringos there were, choirboys? Crime has been their way of life
for long generations. They've lied, cheated, raped and killed the
aborigines and kept no records of any kind. They'd still be lying and
covering up their terrible crime problems, but they were forced to join the
world and use crime reporting procedures common to nearly all nations in the
world. Those standards were established by the United States Federal Bureau
of Investigation, (FBI). That's what really grinds their ass.

It's easy to see how a retarded inbred hillbilly could come to that
conclusion.
HTH

Not really. Your record-keeping of crime has become known world-wide. You
were the laughingstock a few years back. Er, that was before your rate was
as high as it is now. Er, too bad about losing your guns innit.

Hey, I'm sorry your masters won't let you have guns. I guess if you just
weren't so goddam irresponsible. Butt weight, maybe it's a matter of them
fearing you. Have they been ****ing over you lately? I mean more than the
usual? Are they afraid you might want to take over the island? No, I
remember now; it's because if you had guns you'd shoot each other at random.
Them mean ole guns would take over and make you do bad things.

Oh by the way, don't beg us for any more of our personal guns, OK? When
fritz comes back to finish the job - be brave.

Please provide a source for this surprising and novel revelation. Preferably
a better one than "WorldNetDaily."

Psst! Dave, just between you and me: It's likely that some of your
adversaries in usenet have been privately gloating at the unwittingly
self-deprecating irony of your favorite neologism.

_Somebody_ had to tell you, so temptation beat my better nature to the draw
and I eventually decided that the messenger might as well be me rather than
one of those adversaries. But please don't shoot the messenger! In case you
hold my present message against me I'll put on my politician's hat and deny
any memory of having sent it. :-)
