DH called. Just heard from sources in the law enforcement community
that the NY metro area (and perhaps the entire nation) will be under a
hightened Red Alert very soon.

As I said in my subject line, I hope to the heavens this isn't true,
but anyone planning to travel for the New Year holiday, please keep
your heads up, your eyes open and stay safe.

Karen

You're stupider than he is.

In their desperation,
they will resort to anything! Does it matter whom they might hurt or alarm
needlessly? Of course not, they must be in the spot light!!!!

And others use exclamation points to a serious distraction!!!!!!!

As I have
mentioned before, I have two brothers, and a cousin who are State Troopers
and a son who is in law enforcement, but they would never *blab* anything
that was classified.

I doubt they tell lower level LE **** about anything classified.

They believe in the chain of command and being
responsible. My husband had very sensitive and classified information in his
possession during the Korean and Viet Nam Wars, when he was in the military,
but I'm proud to say that he never divulged any of it..Not even to me, and
if he had, I certainly would not have immediately run out and announced it
to the world!.

the if he didn't tell you, how do you know it was classified?

As they say "Loose lips, sink ships!" As for me, true or
not, I will believe it only when I hear it from the proper authorities.

Better hurry. The Pope is near dead.

There are lots of them, Joyce.

What is the loneliest place on earth? Chinatown during Passover.

Beijing is located in a strip mall on Academy Road south of Archbishop Ryan
High School and north of the 8th Police District.

You can get lesser food but a better deal is at Number 1 China which is west
of Roosevelt Boulevard on Red Lion Road. Not quite as good, but you get
either soup or an egg roll for about the same price.

Hi Dick,

I'm originally from NE Philly. Which Chinese restaurant are you
referring to?

Joyce -- Having Italian food from my favorite place in NYC tomorrow

night.

It is a damn shame that Michelle didn't read the note that I posted at 4;34
and 4:53.

She has shunned me. as if I believe that, so she can not continue to post
notes that are as stupid as they were before she engaged me, and then she
proved what a coward she is and chickened out.

Believe me, Cruising Chrissy reads everything I write, but doesn't have the
balls to reply.

I always wondered what would lead to a red alert and thought it would be
that the nation was under attack and that all sensitive areas were being
guarded with the highest security.

Something's up. There's much more going on this time than other times. A
German hospital, possibly treating wounded U.S. soldiers, was under
alert today.

Either that or they saw somebody with an Old Farmers Almanac walking down
Broadway

Something else that was related to me: There was an incident today at
one of the state offices where a man, appearing to be from the Middle
East, made a comment about us Americans "ducking our heads again, just
like on 9-11-01" The man was detained and was to be questioned.
Something very similar occurred just before the September 11th attacks
in New York.

I get little out of this one, Karen. I remember after the Oklahoma City
bombing aboout people seeing suspicious characters that had a "Middle
East" appearance. What's a Middle East appearance? Can many of us tell
Iranians from Jordanians from Argentines from Uzbekis? Turns out
Oklahoma City wasn't carried out by anyone from the Middle East.

This sounds like urban legend.

Ben, what I was talking about happened today at Hans' work place, so
it's not urban legend.

I was thinking about this earlier. Makes you wonder if something's
going on right now that we won't know about until it's all over.
After 9-11, I can imagine the panic a Red Alert could cause.

And yes, I wonder what DOES constitute a Red Alert? I hope we never
find out.

Something's up. There's much more going on this time than other times. A

I wish all those revelers would reconsider congregating in Times
Square tomorrow night. Just makes me real nervous, but I guess that's
what it's supposed to do. If they want to scare me, they're starting
to.
