Noise is an issue anytime. I never want to hear furniture being moved
upstairs, not even during the day.

Most outside noise is from the hallways, particularly
near the elevators or near washing machines. You're more likely to hear
noise from people there than from the bowling alley.

The cabin doors on the Gem are well sound-proofed. The noises we heard
came from the upper deck, not from the corridor.

Jack, could you tell if there was anal penetration or simply a couple
of mulatto guys blowing each other off?

I have to ask: doesn't the sound from the bowling alley bleed through
the decks and cause some annoyance for at least a number of the guests?

Is that the sort of room you get when you go with the cheapest choices?

I haven't been following the Gem, so can't answer your question about
this ship.

sheesh

Noise on any ship is the reason experienced cruisers pick
their cabin carefully. The best cabins to pick are the ones that have
cabins above and below yours...

Then you would never book the Garden Villa? Or the Grand Suite Deck 10
on the Jewel?

We did and it was one of the finest staterooms we have ever had.

We have taken the Norwegian Spirit this year, enjoyed her, and plan to take

Has anyone here been on her recently who can give me a report on her?

Hello, I am sailing the Norweigian Gem this coming December to the eastern caribbean...it is going to San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and Tortola.... I booked an interior cabin on Deck 5, cabin 5069....is there anyone in this group that have sailed this ship, in this particular cabin.... The price was right, for a nine night cruise.... haven't sailed out of the New York Harbor for quite some time....and deceieded to do so, as i live in New YOrk....and i would save money on airline travel..... could anyone please get back to me if you travelled in this particular cabin 5069
