Default Labadee is Back!

Hi Everyone,

Actually, Royal Caribbean's private island stop at Labadee never went
anywhere. The cruise line just stopped going there. g Anyway,
several industry sources are reporting that Royal Caribbean will start
stopping at Labadee next week. Voyager of the Seas, Mariner of the
Seas & Navigator of the Seas are scheduled to make their normal calls
at Labadee next week. The company hired an independent security firm
and it was decided that there would not be any danger. Royal
Caribbean is going to augment their normal security with an
international security team & local police. They said the extra
security will not be visible to cruise passengers. If you have
missed any of my news' postings, they are available on my web site.

Best regards,
Ray

I keep hearing this about Labadee (we are booked on the Mariner of the Seas
for Feb 2005) however when I go to the RCCL website their press release
doesn't state this but the total opposite (that labadee is switched to
cococay)......
So when do we get the info from RCCL directly?

Hi Helen,

RCI has notified travel agents and the trade.

Helen,

I believe the press release you are referring to is for May 9 of 2004. There
is allot of time between now and your cruise next year. Best thing to do is
give them time.

Let's see just how visible it really is! The first time we
pulled into Labadee, Baby Doc was doing his thing and the
security guards were all armed with machine guns. It was
like being dropped of at a prison! Oh, a prison with a
great beach, great food and lots of junk vendors! ;-)

Just my $.02
