Default 5 ways to get easy hotel discounts

Aside from perhaps the cost of traveling to your holiday destination,
it is very likely that your biggest holiday expense is going to be your
hotel room rate. So, here are 5 ways to get easy hotel discounts:

1. Use the Internet
Almost all hotels these days have an Internet presence and are willing
to offer discounts to travelers who book their hotel rooms directly
with them. So, if you are looking to get hotel discounts, check out all
the hotel listing on the Internet in the area where you plan to be
staying and then see what prices they are offering. Remember, the later
you leave booking your hotel room the more likely you are to find hotel
discounts, especially if you are willing to travel in the off-season.

2. Ask them!
This may sound really obvious, but one of the easiest and quickest ways
for you to secure hotel discounts is to phone up the hotel in question
and ask them directly what hotel discounts they have on offer at the
moment. Depending on where you are staying, some hotel discounts can be
as high as 80% if you have left booking your hotel room till very late
in the day. Of course, the flip-side to leaving it late to book you
hotel room is that there may not be any rooms available, or the hotel
may find that hotel discounts that high no longer make it profitable
for the hotel to stay in business, so don't expect the world when
negotiating the room rate but do be willing to fight for hotel
discounts if you think they're warranted.

Europe: 00-800-11-20-11-40
Use discount code: 138969

3. Through a tour agent
If you still haven't been able to find hotel discounts, then the time
may have come for you to start looking around tour agents to see if
they have any hotel discounts on offer. Again though, using a tour
agent does mean you're relying on a third party, which can only mean
that you could have got a bigger hotel discount if you had only known
about the hotel's discount offer package in the first place!
Try:
US and Canada: 1-800-780-5733
Europe: 00-800-11-20-11-40
Use discount code: 138969

4. Loyalty programs
More and more these days, loyalty programs, such as air-miles, offer
travelers cheap hotel discounts on accommodation as part of their
loyalty program. So, if you have a loyalty program, for example with
using your credit card, why not check it out and see what type of hotel
discounts you can get before you book.

5. Coupon and Voucher program
Most 'chain' hotels these days offer regular guests discount coupon
and voucher programs. So, if you like to stay in one particular chain
of hotels wherever you may visit, one way that you could end up saving
money on the hotel discounts is to purchase one of these coupon and
voucher programs. Normally the coupon and voucher system lasts a year,
but one of the advantages of hotel discounts like this is that
they're not normally restricted to a discount on the room-rate, but
also include discounts on such things as food and beverage in the
hotels restaurants, and spas they hotel may have, and additional hotel
facilities. As a result, this type of hotel discount could end up
saving you a considerable amount of money over the course of a year.

Although the above are 5 main ways to look for hotel discounts, they
are by far not the only ways to get hotel discounts, so always keep an
eye out for those extra special attractive hotel discounts advertised
on your local TV and radio stations and in your local newspaper.
