sim cards in Gibraltar, Alicante, Barcelona, Marseilles and Rome
I have an unlocked, Motorola Razr world phone. US carrier is T-mobile.
I've listed the ports-of-call in the subject line. Does anyone know if temporary sim cards (pre-paid) are available near tourist areas in these ports? What about general pre-paid (cheep) phones in these ports? Is it worth it for one day in each port? -- ________ To email me, Edit "blog" from my email address. Brian M. The site below offers Spanish sim cards. You can use the cards all over Europe. The benefit is calls received in Spain don't incur charges at all (though calls in Gibraltar might if you didn't preselect Spanish Vodafone). They list other per minute charges. I don't think $55 is cheap, but I don't know how much time you want to spend on the phone. http://www.spainsim.com/ Brian, I know that the SIM card I purchased in Spain (I forget the carrier) worked in Italy, but I couldn't add minutes/money to it there and I couldn't find a way to do it online. That's an important consideration. This company does allow online top-up, but it may take 10 days, i.e. not really useful. |
