Default London Heathrow to Edgeware Rd Tube station

Which station on the Picadilly line do I have to change to get to
Edgeware Road Station??
I have looked at Earls Court and Hammersmith. Do I have to go outside
any of these stations
to change trains, Which is the most efficient station to change for a
quick service???

Do you realize there are two Edgware Road stations? They're quite
close but there might be a difference if you're disabled or have a
lot of stuff. It'd be a long trip to reach the Bakerloo Line one,
though.

The map has disabled-friendly signs beside both Hammersmith and Earl's
Court. I think Hammersmith is usually quieter. You may get more
frequent trains (Circle Line) if you change at South Kensington.

BTW it's "Edgware", no middle E.

There are 2 stations at Hammersmith. They aren't far apart (separated by a
4 lane road with a subway under). You would need to move between the 2;
well signed.

Going via South Ken means getting the lift up from the Piccadilly to the
Circle BUT there are still stairs to negotiate.

It may seem counter intuitive to make 2 changes but you might find it easier
to change from Piccadilly to District at Hammersmith since it is just a few
steps across the same platform and then change again at Earls Court, again
straight across the platform (or may even be from the same side of the
platform) just take care to board a train to Edgware Road at Earls Court.
You would need to negotiate stairs at Edgware Road (District) to get from
platform to street.

It might be worth noting that although more expensive the Heathrow Express
(HeX) would possibly be easier depending on the precise destination. HeX
would take you to Paddington which is about 15 minute walk from Edgware Road
stations (and at the less expensive end of a taxi ride from Paddington).
HeX platforms have lifts right to Platform level at Heathrow and the access
at Paddington is on the flat to the concourse then up a slope to the street.
