Default Cairo Airport Layover Help - Picking up airline tix and starting RTW. Help with Airport & Facilities

I'm posting this for a friend who is getting ready to do a OneWorld RTW -ex
CAI, but I would much appreciate any and all responses so that I may relay
the info to him. My friend doesn't have access to this newsgroup, and I
thought this would be an appropriate place to inquire on his behalf.

Even if you're not familiar with the RTW's -ex CAI, comments and suggestions
about the Cairo Airport for a short stay / turn around would be greatly
appreciated, as that is what my friend is primarily interested in. However,
if you have experience in regards to the BA ticket counter, any lines, and
picking tix up, it would be apreciated as well.

A question for those who have had quick turns in Cairo before commencing
RTW's.

I will be arriving at 2:45am into CAI. The ticket counter (BA/Oneworld)
opens at 6:00am from what I understand. My departing flight is 8:35am.
Once I am in posession of my tix, I will have access to the airline lounges,
etc. (He is a top-tier with OneWorld). This leaves the following
questions:

What can I do between my arrival and the opening of the ticket office? Are
there any facilities available in the airport where I can kick back, relax,
and get a decent cup of coffee?

Any comments/suggestions on the facilities available at this time of
morning, especially getting some decent coffee would be great.

For those who have done the RTW's -ex CAI, is the BA ticket counter normally
busy when it opens? I'm wondering if I should arrive early and start the
queue early, or should I not be too concerned?

I understand many people have been purchasing RTW fares ex CAI and I was
able to secure a ticket before the price increase.

If I'm in no hurry and if there are no facilities to kick back and obtain a
decent hot drink (coffee) at the airport, is there a hotel nearby
(Novotel??) that I can use to get refreshments and use of the bathrooms?
Any help and suggestions much appeciated.

-------------------------------------------

Thanks -- please post responses here, but if you'd like, you're also welcome
to email me with any specifics/suggestions or advice you might have. Just
be sure to alter my email address and remove the nospam bit.

Cheers!

Steve
