All right. I have a confession to make. I was lying when I said that
all cities in North America, Europe, and around the world were going
car-free. The reason I did that is I wanted to see how you would all react
and I read these different websites that spouted car-free and environmental
stuff. Stan SD and the other guy's threats to cause my family trouble and a
friend that told me lying and imposing my bullcrap on others is wrong made
me see the light. Being a BS artist is a weakness I have. I admit no city is
going to go car-free and the car-free movement is quite small. So I'll leave
this newsgroup alone and I'll ask: What city is going car-free and are there
any car-free cities being built anywhere in the world?

Thanks for the confession. There are several car-free areas in the US,
mostly island tourist destinations like Mackinac Island, Michigan. Only
bicyles and horses are allowed.

The island off the coast of Southern California is car free.

As for which cities will be car free in the future, only one who
has a crystal ball can tell you that.

"Gomez" (among your other pseudonyms), you have burned every benighted
bridge you had. You have NO, ZERO, ZILCH credibility on the Internet.
You threw any you might have had left away after the Aerobicide incident,
and it doesn't take much of a brain to look you up and see your line
of tubgirl spamming people all over the place. Even when you have a
valid point, who is going to take you seriously? Your mother, maybe.
Anyone else would be well advised to lift their leg and pee on you
instead of believing something you said. Cars, gaming, Star Trek,
college, the Jolley family website, you've left a trail of inept lies
and putrefied social skills.

Is that really the legacy you want to be remembered for?

Venice is car-free. Pedestrian zones with limited vehicle access are
common in Europe.

But it is not free of (often noisy) motorized transit. Also Venice in
the summer is one of the most crowded (and unpleasant) cities in
Europe.

That said, it is interesting that Italy, of all countries, seems to be
taking the lead in developing traffic-free zones, "slow cities" (and
"slow food"), and utilitarian bicycle riding. If you ever live there,
you'll understand why.
