Default Las Vegas New Year

Hi All,

I am looking into going to Las Vegas for the Week over the New Year and
would like to know from anybody who has been there over the New Year before.
I have been to Vegas before so i was just wondering if it was any different
over the new year in any way ??. I'm guessing there will be alot more people
around, but do the hotels have firework displays or anything like that when
the new year comes around ??.

Also i was thinking about hiring a car and driving out to Bryce Canyon. I
have already been to the Grand Canyon and have heard this is worth going to
see as well. Could anybody tell me what the weather around there would be
like over the new year period. I don't fancy driving on snowy roads.

Thanks for any help in advance
Dave.

Default Las Vegas New Year

This is one of the most expensive times to visit Las Vegas. The week before
Christmas, things start dying down, Christmas Eve is as dead as I've ever
seen the place. Then on Christmas day, people start arriving in droves.
And they don't stop. New Years Eve is a huge party, and EVERYTHING is
packed.

Expect temperatues in the mid 40s. This is the most humid time in Vegas,
averaging around 30-40% humidity but average is less than half an inch per
rain per month, so you shouldn't encounter any snowy or icy conditions even
if you encounter an especially cold spell.

Make reservations NOW. Prices will be high, but the longer you wait, the
higher they get.

There's always a cool show on Fremont Street, which is where I prefer to
stay in Vegas. The show is aside from the light display above - they
usually have live music and an all out party atmosphere.

Part of Las Vegas Blvd are usually shutdown to traffic - just to handle the
# of people. Told you it is a huge party.

I envy you, have a great time!

Tim
