I believe that this does happen on the part of Japanese service providers
but I *know* that Koreans do it too when they are in control of the
situation because they can get away with it but I'm not about to give the
details publicly. And I saw American stewardesses behave badly towards
Asians and to an African American who got an upgrade, he was told, "Oh, you
don't really belong up here." He was silent and no longer smiling for the
entire flight.

Anyone who does this should be ashamed but they're not. Racism is for
cowards and has nothing to do with someone thinking that they are superior
to anyone else. As soon as they see that their target has support, they
back off. People of the same background as the racist should and do speak
up on behalf of the victim and that usually shuts the bigot up or at least
lets the bigot know that eyes see them for what they are.

That is shocking, isn't it. Totally ruin a comapny's PR. And who are they
anyway? Steardess? The whores of the sky. Racism sucks.

I was on a GF flight from BAH - MNL last November, and racism was clearly
evident. Whites and Arabs were getting far superior treatment and service
than anyone Asian.

Racism certainly is. You can also see a difference between the
treatment of well-dressed people and people who dress like slobs.

Really? Where?

Maybe you do. But I don't recall any airline experience like that. In
fact, overdress people kind of look like aliens who are flying for the
first time and surely they have to dress for the occasion...

This would never be a problem for Americans because we would just get
up, track the woman down wherever she was and ask where the hell is my
food. Maybe you just need to be more assertive.

Prejudice against slobs can somehow be understood (you don;t have to be ricj
to look half-presentable) however to intimidate certain races on board an
aircraft is not good. With regards to JAL, I have before seen their
stewardesses effectiveley flirting with western gents whilst giving standrd
service to Japanese guests. However, as most Japanese guys are horny
manga-readers, you cannot blame them I guess.
