Does anyone have info on this beach; i.e. admission fee, facilities,
etc. The "fine art of googling" doesn't seem to help G

Try Advanced Groups Search with all of the words "playa sol" in the
Newsgroup "rec.travel.cruises". There is quite a bit of information there.

Beach break at Play sol 27 per person

Arlene, your sister will be glad she's getting out of N.J. before the
arctic chill that is due to arrive this weekend (highs in the 20's).

Hi back to Milt!

Arlene, you might want to mention Paradise Beach to your sister. It
is a brand new place (right next door to Playa Sol). It's about a 10
minute taxi ride from the port. Admission is free, as are lounge
chairs, umbrellas, floating mats. There is a bar/restaurant and they
do massages and henna tatoos right on the beach. The bathroom was
absolutely spotlessly clean. They also had changing rooms. I would
highly recommend this place.

This Paradise Beach that everyone's been talking about...sounds too
good to be true. Are they really just depending on sales of
drinks/massages/henna tattoos to stay in business?

Right now their only income seems to be from food and beverage sales... and
the massages and henna tattoos. This is a new operation and I would bet
that before long, they start charging for other services. Years ago Playa
Sol was like this... then they moved, expanded and drew the shore excursions
from the ships and now the place can be very crowded... and there is an
admission fee. (It still is a nice place, though). Mr. Sancho's is similar
to Playa Sol... without the admission charge and not quite as crowded.

Paradise Beach is the new kid on the block and they are going to be very
customer friendly while they try to build a customer base. The only thing
they are missing at this point is a pool... and they certainly have the room
for one. It will be interesting to see how this property develops.
