Default FYI: Pride of Aloha to take over Pride Of America

I know some pax will be
disappointed in not sailing

On the other hand, they could have found themselves without a vacation at all.

It is great that a cruise line can be nimble enough to move another ship in. My
guess is that the 3/4 day cruises weren't selling so strongly making this
possible.

Default FYI: Pride of Aloha to take over Pride Of America

I have (or had) reservations on the Norwegian Sky to Alaska.
I would rather not have NCL take away the Sky ("used car").
I was on the Sky this past Feb 2003 in the Caribbean and it was great.
I booked three cabins for this June based on the Sky being a known
quantity.
I am very disappointed that it will be taken away and given to someone
else because of a problem unrelated to my concerns.

I understand that there are 3 ships going to Alaska and none going to
Hawaii.
It makes sense that they took the Sky early since they were going to
refurbish it and redeploy it as the Pride of Aloha.

I just hope that the ship they replace the Sky is of the same class
and quality.
Otherwise, I would rather move to the very nice Norwegian Star.

There is no information available (yet) on what ship will replace the
Sky.
I just called NCL and they will have more information this coming
week.

So if the Pride of America passengers are upset, then let them
remember that
the Norwegian Sky customers have been inconvenienced to make them
happy.

Where do you acquire a whole different ship on this short notice?

I buddy of mine is booked on that now sunk ship. He is scheduled to sail
in July. NCL is now going to rebook him and his wife on the refitted (as
in old refurb) ship Pride of Aloha. I am wondering if NCL will
compensate the cruisers for placing them on a refurb ship instead of
what they expected to be a brand new ship. Sort of like giving a
customer a reconditioned used car instead of their brand new car that
got smashed in transit and expecting the same money for it. At least he
will have a ship to be on. It seems to me, NCL should offer these people
some kind of on ship credit or return some of their money as
compensation for not getting what they payed for.

if this has been already posted but I have not noticed anything yet ...

Hi,

I know of about 5 that are available but I would not buy them if I
were running NCL. g

Best regards,
