I'll be doing this for the first time in a few weeks. Will there be
any problems regarding airport security? What's normal procedure for
ths?

TIA

You'll almost certainly have to remove the laptop from its bag and it'll
have to be scanned separately.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland
I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate
All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach
Time for tea.

I don't have a clue where you are, but around _here_ it's not a problem.
However, you have to take the laptop out of its case/bag and put it in a
separate container at security.

You can say that again, and again. and again, even though David already
said it.

Have also a glimpse at this
http://www.schneier.com/crypto-gram-0805.html#3

Extracts :
Last month a US court ruled that border agents can search your laptop, or
any other electronic device, when you're entering the country. They can
take your computer and download its entire contents, or keep it for
several days. Customs and Border Patrol has not published any rules
regarding this practice, and I and others have written a letter to
Congress urging it to investigate and regulate this practice.

But the US is not alone.
