You may want to check this, but I am sure I'm right.

I did a check on Club flight prices to New York and Bangkok from LHR.
Remember New York is about an 8 hour flight, Bangkok is 12.

Cheapest to New York return about 3,650 GBP

Cheapest to Bangkok return about 2,220 GBP!

Bangkok 1st class is about 3,420 GBP!

However to use BA Miles New York is 100,000 but Bangkok is 160,000 for Club
return.

So I am going to cancel my Bangkok flight in First which cost 240,000 BA
Miles and buy a ticket in First and use the BA miles to get two Club tickets
to New York, save money and miles in the process!

Regards

John

A little while back, Portugal-LHR-NYC (and a whole bunch of east coast
N. America were EUR 1,600 in BC, EUR 2,234 in FC.

EUR 2,685...

A few years ago, I used 150k CP miles to get YVR-LHR-BKK-SYD and back in
FC. Still can be done with 150k AS miles.

Fare are not set by distance only. They are influenced by competition
and demand. Business class seats to New York are of higher demand than
to Bangkok. Same with First. Miles required tend to follow more of a
principle of distance.
