best places to visit near shangai

Hi
I will arrive on june 13 to shangai, i will stay there, and would like to
know some special places to visit in the city, and also little towns on the
sourrenders, and if there any special beach or close island.

Any information will be great, beacuse this is the less prepared travel in
my live, after 5 days on shangai, I don t know where im gonna go, i don t
like a lot big cities, prefer typical chinese towns or trips, even the
language inconvenience.

There are couple of towns popular on the tourist track: Hongzhou and
Suzhou. You can easily book a tour of those two cities or do it
yourself. A short flight away is Nanjing, a former capitol of China.
Also an hour's flight away is Hwangshan, a very beautiful and scenic
(and very popular) mountain.

Shengsi is an little island near Shanghai and is't far away from Shanghai. Zhouzhuang or Qibao which are famous for their old buildings and traditional Chinese snacks are also old towns near Shanghai, take a bus from Xujiahui ( Shanghai) and you may arrive there soon.
