Britain turning on US- at its own peril

Simple. They ARE horrified. also true! The biggest single cause of British anti-Americanism, however, is Israel. Despite being the target for more than half a century of genocidal Arab and Muslim aggression, Israel is widely perceived in Britain as the regional bully, and its acts of self-defense its interesting the the americans can be so blind to the arab side of the case that they see even handedness as anti semitism. I had expected to see no more of these posts (I notice "fromage" was mentioned in one part of the anti europe rant) now that Iraq is near the point of disaster. Does this mean there are still americans who think "shock and awe" worked? Or is it just simple trolling? I think some have been dumbed down the the extent that if their local Fox channel, pastor, rightwing radio talk host or newspaper says it, it must be true. Only an idiot would have allowed an entire undefeated army to walk home without clear knowledge that the insurgency that EVERYONE including Saddam predicted, would happen. Only idiots would have thought that they could invade countries like Afghnistan and Iraq on the cheap. Shows that all they really thought of was feathering their own nests at the expense of the US people and their allies. -- MikeOscarPapa Are entities outside of your state BUYING your candidates? Probably 20% that have no personal skin in the game and/or those that cheerlead from the sidelines for personal financial or political gain. I reckon they know that all they have to do is cause continuing casualties and US will eventually pull out. -- MikeOscarPapa Are entities outside of your state BUYING your candidates? The Neocons will no doubt see themselves as a victimized minority after November 7. 52A1 I hope so. Tim C Best not to count chickens before they are hatched. '06 ELEX: BACK TO TOSS-UP E-mail this column to a friend! October 24, 2006 -- The latest polls show something very strange is happening: The Republican base seems to be coming back home. This trend, only vaguely and dimly emerging from a variety of polls, suggests that a trend may be afoot that would deny the Democrats control of the House and the Senate. With two weeks to go, anything can happen, but it is beginning to look poss- ible that the Democratic surge in the midterm elections may fall short of control in either House. Here's the evidence:..... Senate Could Be Evenly Split Once Again Oct 24 7:03 PM US/Eastern Associated Press WASHINGTON Expected Democratic gains in the election raise the possibility that the Senate, for the second time in six years, will end up in a 50-50 tie..... Republicans would officially still be the majority party in an evenly divided Senate because Vice President Dick Cheney, in his role as president of the Senate, would give the GOP a tie-breaking vote. |
