Hey, RTC.
Why has NCL abandoned the Eastern Caribbean? Since the SS Norway was taken
out of service, they haven't replaced her in that area. Eastern is my
favorite route and I love Freestyle.

Wassssup wit dat???

Yo, sup?

Guess they get better kickbacks from the stores and tours in those
calmer water ports.

The Western Caribbean is one of the most popular routes for all cruise
lines. The cruise lines are also able to charge a little more for the
Western Caribbean it is called profit.

Yes, NCL is not doing any Eastern Caribbean cruises for 2004

That could be! But then why would they have had the Norway all those years?
Are they missing out on all those kickbacks???

The Norway was PAID IN FULL. That is why the prices where so low. You
will also notice most cruise line either send the ship one week
Eastern / one week Western or Western only. Very few do Eastern only.

The only information I have is circumstantial. On our first Norway
cruise in the early 90's, Eileen won $1,500 in a bingo game that friends
forced her to play (she hates bingo). The payoff came in a stack of $5
bills, even thought the ship would not accept cash for bingo (only
charges to one's account). We speculated then, that the money was from
NCL engaging in drug smuggling on the Norway. So perhaps the Norway was
running drugs in the E. Caribbean all those years.
