Default Scrapping Bids Sought for United States


United States may soon be scrapped.
The S.S. United States Conservancy reports that owners Genting Hong
Kong and Norwegian Caribbean Line (NCL) are collecting bids from
scrappers for the legendary liner, which has been docked at a
Philadelphia pier for over a decade.

Friend who works in the port (okay, is stationed) says "good luck
getting to Bangladesh". He doesn't think she's seaworthy and wouldn't
even trust her to get to open water.
