Hypothetical West Coast Cruise
I'll take round trip San Francisco to anywhere.
There are already a few SF to Alaska and back and SF to Mexico. I would like to add.... One way San Francisco to Hawaii and around the islands. One way Hawaii around the islands to San Francisco. Round trip San Francisco round trip to Hawaii (without a forced stop in Ensenada, Vancouver or Kiribati) I would love 3 and 4 day cruises from San Francisco. Wouldn't even need to stop at a port. Just take her out to sea and back. Does it show that San Francisco is my local cruise port? Hey.... as long as we are not dealing in reality here, howabout brining a ship to do round trips from the local Half Moon Bay harbor? I would be willing to tender out to meet the ship. (I might even consider swimming.) Mike John Sisker wrote: Here's a hypothetical for you, but if the current restrictions (laws) were not in existence for at least a service call to a foreign port, where would you like to cruise to/from on the West Coast? What do you feel would make an ideal cruise? Happy sailing... John Sisker... |

"Michael Akana" wrote in message om... I'll take round trip San Francisco to anywhere. That triggered a thought... How about (with 9:30 Tee times included): Depart from San Francisco. Day 1 Pebble Beach (Monterey, CA) Day 2 At Sea Day 3 Torrey Pines (San Diego, CA) Day 4 At Sea Day 5 Spyglass Hill (Monterey, CA) Day 6 Bandon Dunes (Bandon, OR) Day 7 back to San Francisco --Tom |

Michael,
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, and glad to see you included it in the newsgroup as well. It is good to see that so many were willing to play this game, even though it is a hypothetical. Before you book a cruise from a two bit lying sleazeball who uses Usenet as free SPAMADVERTISING ground and for purposeful attempts at personal character assassination. Are you next? Think twice before booking with Ray Goldenberg. http://tr.im/hlJv |

acknowledge him. So true Chrissy. Yet, when some have already shown their true colors, it is almost like the boy who cried wolf... it is too late by then. John |

I think I've seen a round trip from either San Francisco or Los Angeles. How long do you have to brine a ship before the hull becomes tender? |

If the voyage is between different US ports, the PSA requires a "far" foreign port -- not in North America, Central America or Caribbean. (The ABC islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao are considered part of South America and thus qualify) So, as Ray realized after his first cup of coffee, most of the itineraries in this hypothetical discussion violate the current regulations. Yes, currently - and I believe HAL has offered that itinerary regularly (I seem to recall threats to stop these convenience calls about a year ago - likely after pressure from a certain Hawaiian Senator who gets lots of donations from NCL) |
