Default Cross channel ferries and wheelchairs

How feasible is travel on a cross channel ferry for a wheelchair-bound
car passenger? Does anyone have direct experience? Horror stories?
We are contemplating organizing such a trip.
Thanks

Another pointless thread ahead...
Nothing to say about it, you wheel in, you wheel out and there are lifts +

Well, my most recent experience with ferries was with Italian ones and I
can assure you that I would dread putting a disabled person through the
experience.

P&O are very 'disabled friendly'.
