It's the four hours it will take me to type it up.

Write it in several smaller episodes...

My guess is that it's usually much more than 20 to 1. But that has
nothing to do with how many people go through the archives to read old
posts.

Last November, as an experiment, I posted two references to youtube and
looked how the access count evolved. One of the videos was a busy one and
I couldn't detect any surplus in activity, for the second one, my
impression is that it was only slightly more accessed that usually,
perhaps some two dozen access more.
This group declined when it was heavily spammed some years ago.
Usenet used to be an interesting place.

hmmm not always.
Some "reports" look more like a private ho hum diary.

If it's such a bother to give one click, then don't bother.

For once, if have to agree with Runge, Tim.
Just post the report if you like to publish it, don't have us beg for it
first.

Even those who ask information before they travel rarely report
afterwards. A few did, and it was very interesting.

No

Speak for yourself, Dave! Many of us still read rte, and appreciate
reading about other travelers' experiences.

Is there somewhere else I should put it that will be useful to people?

I just did a quick check and notice that if you put the destination
alongside the words Trip report in your search engine, you'll see
various sites from which it's likely to get more exposure, if that's
what you're after.
Personally, I just like the exercise of putting something together and
to hell with whether anyone sees it or not.

But no one is interested, except a small bunch of old people who have
nothing to do !!
Keep your stuff to yourself, it's private.
