Hi Steve,
Your computer is new and you probably don't have JAVA
enabled. Try using IE (internet explorer).

i would have posted the itineraries, amenities etc to be voted on without
the names of the TA's. that way the best itinerary would be chosen with or
without regard to the TA

The reason I posted Karen's resume is that I was asked for information

about
her. If it would have been asked I would have posted it also. I believe
that the resume of all the bidders will be available on the GGC website.

If you would like to know about John .... Bio of John Setzo: I am a

cruise
enthusiast and a certified master cruise counselor with CLIA. I have been
an agent for 6 years but have cruised since I was a child. I have

escorted
several group cruises for our agency and dealt with groups as large as

200.
I have personally hosted a large church group of about 200 people for the
past 3 years. The owner of the agency, Bob Hanks has been in the business
for 12 years and has hosted groups as large as 500. He also is a

certified
master cruise counselor. We plan to co-host the group cruise if we shall
win the bid. If we shall win, I can arrange a complimentary group tour

and
luncheon onboard the NCL Star some time in the Fall for those interested.

I was on the GGC Committee last year and I think the reason that John's
package was not brought forward is that he did not meet the requirements

of
the RFB at that time. He understood and had no hard feelings.

So the "Change" is, John now qualifies to bid.

Well now Chip

Why would you bother to post Karen's resume and not John's? A little

one
sided I would say. You do know how everyone has a thing for Mr. Szeto,

don't
you? For years he was not allowed to bid on a GGC because of his ethics.
What changed now? So, I ask again, why not post his resume?

If you read Karen Wheelock's Resume you will find that she is very
experienced and has a great reputation. World Travel Service has been

in
business for almost 50 years and is the largest travel agency in

Oklahoma.
Karen Wheelock, has been an agent for 17 years and a cruise group

specialist
for 10 years. She is a delightful person to deal with. She has a

true
desire to make any travel experience pleasant and enjoyable for her

clients.
I have known her for a couple of years.

I wanted to stay neutral in this, (since I am on the Committee) but

her
company is right here in Tulsa. We Tulsans are proud of Tulsa and are
protective of each other!

I hope that answers some of your questions. If not feel free to ask

others,
or you could always call her! 1-800-324-4987 x 259 or check out their
website www.WorldTravelToday

my only question/concern is who is this other TA? do you know

people
who
have dealt with her in the past? is she someone's private agent?

these
can
all be a concern. Everyone here on RTC is familiar with the other

names
and
has their own opinions of them.

So how many times has Karen Wheelock posted on rtc?

Sue ---found no posts from Google Groups

I have no idea, nor am I overly concerned with that and

neither
was
the
rest of the committee.

As you should know, it gets increasingly more difficult to get

TA's
that will bid at all on the GGC's because of the flame level

that
exists primarily here. When we posted for TA's to bid, she

was
one
of
them.

Thanks for asking....

Perhaps next time it might be worth stating up front that the

TA's
that
bid
don't have to be RTCr's. It might generate even more interest.
Having
the
stipulation, as in the past, that the TA must be an RTC poster

reduces
the
"pool" of TA's that can bid.

Even though you did get a non-RTC TA to bid this time, maybe if

you
state up
front that you don't have to be an RTC poster you'll get even

more
interest
next time.

--Tom

I won't argue with that. But that isn't the way it was done this

time.
Next GGC the committee can do like us and make their rules also.

For information, each GGC committee is empowered to do whatever is
ethical and legal to produce good results. They are not bound to

the
previous committee's rules in any way except possibly that it

makes
it
easier.

And actually, there is no requirement that the GGC chair even

empanel
a
committee as I was told more than once.

All in all, I think we got some very nice bids that you all will

find
at least one if not more to like.

that would then be a part time student with a full time job. it would be
quite difficult to be a full time student and have a full time job. many
times you posted that you did the TA work PT. and it was until you got done
with school.

Mike,

Never did I say I was the owner of the agency. Don't put words in my

mouth.
Also, like I said before, just because someone goes to school, doesn't

mean they
cannot be a full time agent. I know a lot of people who have full time

jobs and
go to night school. It is very common. I was a full time agent then and

a full
time agent now. You just had a hard time comprehending that fact.

Like I said before, enough said. That's why I have not been posting on

R.T.C.
for the past year or so anymore because of all the flame wars.

Mike Cordelli wrote:

I'm sorry, I had thought that in April of 2001, period of time you were

not
allowed to bid that you were still in school, were not an owner of a

travel
agency, and were not a full time travel agent. Obviously I'm mistaken,

at
that time you were all that and were certainly slighted by not being

allowed
to bid.

Again, if I'm wrong, and the post I was referring from April 11th or so

of
2001 is incorrect, and you did own an agency then, and were working full
time, then I'm wrong.

Nice try though.

Mike,

For the record, I am a full time agent and got permission from the

agency
to
able to bind the contract for years already.

Get your facts straight. You can argue all you want. Enough said.

Mike Cordelli wrote:

No No No, he wasn't allowed to bid because he wasn't the owner or

even a
full time travel agent. That was back when they had rules.

That was discussed and we decided to ID the TA's.

The reasoning being that if the vote went to a TA that was unpopular,
then those that voted wouldn't book when the time came. Whether that
is totally right or wrong doesn't matter, it was the overall feeling of
the committee that it was certainly a possibility.

Sunny, a good virus protection takes care of that. As far as a pc crashing.
I have now owned two and they have both worked fine. I will state that my
first pc was a Gateway which was a piece of garbage. Love my Dell.

Gordon Looking for some wood to knock on after making that statement
about no crashes!!!!!!!!!

Shame on your son offering to buy such a machine. Dosn't he know you
can buy a computer that doesn't catch viruses and doesn't crash? It's
called a Mac
