European wallets often have little coin pouches, I use mine
for those stupid 1 and 2 cent coins that somebody decided that we
need. (He must have been a German, this seems to be the only race
who think them worth using!)

They have them in America too, and very annoying they are.

But you've had yours for dozens of years back from a time
when they were worth having.

We've got a new currency, introduced from day one with
some useless little coins that almost no-one (other than Germans)
can be bothered with using.

So, Duh. Don't put coins in the wallets. We're talking about ging

There's no metal in it, but it would sure feel suspicious
on pat-down. Will this finger me for more intensive screening,

even
though it's innocuous? Or should I risk all by putting it in my
carry-on or in the small tray?

What do you mean by "risk all"?

My original question was about the risk of someone making off with my
carry-on while I was undergoing secondary screening.
