Default Great Land Cruise - Las Vegas Update

Hi Everyone...

Plans are moving along (that means people are still coming and hotel
reservations have been made) and I am still researching places for our Group
Dinner on Friday night and Brunch on Sunday morning. The last time I was
to a Vegas bash we had Sunday Brunch at the Rio and it was excellent. Since
then the Rio has changed management and the Buffet has just re-opened so I
am waiting to get some reviews before we commit to anything.

A member of r.t.c. now lives in Las Vegas and he is going to supply us with
some local information from time to time to help you plan your visit to Las
Vegas. He has given me permission to post his email to me about various
subjects. Here is the first:
--------------------------------------

http://tinyurl.com/38f3a George, this is possibly a bit too off the Strip
for your party, but it might also be one of the "insider" type of deals that
would make you look like a hero for knowing where the good-but-cheap places
are to eat. My neighbor turned me on to this place and the food is
incredible. Their Prime Rib covers the plate and is $4 24/7 with a baked
potato. Breakfast can be the $2 Eggs Benedict. They're literally in the
shadow of Sunset Station Casino, and adjacent to a huge mall shopping
center. Sunset Station also has a multi screen movie off the casino and
scads of good parking. The place is decent and presentable, but their draw
to compete with Sunset Station is their high quality food as a loss leader.

You might also want to mention "The Casino" from the Discovery Channel.
It's about the management and daily going on of Green Valley Ranch (another
Station casino) here by our house. GVR has an Original Pancake House
restaurant (among others) that has some of the best pancakes, eggs etc. in
town. They have two locations and Emeril (TV chef) eats there whenever he
comes to town to inspect his three restaurants, saying that it's better than
he can make himself.
-----------------------------------

We have about 30 people signed up for the Great Land Cruise in Las Vegas.

Here are the basic facts:

What: the r.t.c. Great Land Cruise - Las Vegas Bash
http://www.cruisemaster.com/lvbash.htm

When: August 27 through 29, 2004

Whe Las Vegas, Nevada. The Flamingo hotel is recommended but you may
stay at any hotel you like.

Who: EVERYONE is invited. Call it a pre-cruise party. Call it a
post-cruise party. Call it an r.t.c. party. Everyone and anyone who reads
r.t.c. is invited to join in on the fun.

Thank you, Dick. From the review it seems that while they have remodeled,
the food has stayed about the same with most things being OK. If we go
there it will be for Sunday Brunch.
