Transportation in Amsterdam
I'm going to need transportation from the Amsterdam airport to a hotel
near the Rijksmuseum, and then from the hotel to the pier where cruise ships dock. Should I take taxis, or are there better alternatives (limousines, etc.) I probably don't want to take a bus, as that will be difficult with luggage. -- Ken Blake |

Well, for the first part, there are practically three options: 1. A taxi or shared taxi. Will cost 20-50 Euro. Gets you from Schiphol to the Museumplein 2. A shuttle bus or regular bus. These buses are less convenient than a cab ride, but probably better than you expect. 3. The train to Central Station and the tram to Rijksmuseum. You avoid a bus ride (but a tram ride ain't that much better). See http://amsterdamtips.com/getting-to-...ol-airport.php From the Rijksmuseum area to the cruise ship terminal: take a taxi. It's not too long a ride, and it's much better than taking a bus or tram [and perhaps having to switch at the Central Station], especially when the weather is bad. -- Erick |

Thanks for that info too. -- Ken Blake |
