True, I was speaking more of the European v.s. American attitudes and
sentiments toward sex and nudism. Generally there appears to be less
prudishness and fear in Europeans.

Prolly because they grew up with all those nekkid statues.

More likely they exported them here. Remember the Puritans? Although you
would have thought over the years that the prisoners and other
sociopaths sent over around the same time would have balanced out the
Relgiously persecuted by now,.

Kurt, with your extensive background RN psychiatry, how much good can
be done to open the doors to a healthier American attitude toward
nudism and sex by adopting nudism and/or naturism?

I am hearing when the clothes come off, the emotional and
psychological barriers can drop away as well. Couldn't seem to hurt
and what a better way to do this than a nude or clothing-optional
cruise?

"Within reason"? Give a few examples of sexual stuff that would NOT
be within reason.

Anything that isn't consentual. For example, "assault" comes to mind when
someone ignores the "safe" word. Things like that. That's not within
reason.

Nudity and sexual norms are mostly societal and not psychiatric and
way outside my areas of expertise. I have always found it interesting,
though, that the Boomers, who "invented" free love in the 60s, soon
turned back around into what we see today. I guess Don Fagen had it
right: "All those day-glo freaks who used to paint the face, they've
joined the human race. Somethings will never change."

That is assuming that dropping off the clothes is congruent with
the person's outlook and if they feel comfortable. To impose that on an
unwilling person would do much more damage.

sex with Terry lol...

That's true. That would get you in deep trouble.

Better rock n roll than a hot Latina samba.

Nudists can't do samba. To do samba correctly you need a skimpy costume.

On top of that, we have turned into ****ty, materialistic parents but
that's another thread. No excuses can be made.

As far as individual people
go, that would be a poor assumption. There are nudes who are prudes,
and those who are sexually free who would not be caught dead in a
situation where there is social nudity.

That's certainly true. A fellow I worked with assumed that people in the gay
and lesbian community were promiscious. He was quite surprised to discover
that they're really no more "outgoing" than straights, for example.

Individuals are just that. Some enjoy travel cruises and some do not. Some
are nudists and some are not. Some enjoy the caribbean and some do not.

No, we hold them up and revere them as role models. I wish people who admire
their values would do as they did -- MOVE TO ANOTHER COUNTRY! :-)

Like most Caribbean islands, it's a matter of where you go and what
you are doing.

I'm talking about simple things such as horseback riding in the mountains.
On my first trips we were able to do that. On subsequent ones the locals
told us that was likely to get us robbed or worse. Times change.
