Alitalia Stable?
I'm scheduled to fly to Italy on Alitalia on May 6 (and home on May 24). On a
different forum there is a contributor (who is Italian) who is predicting doom and gloom; feels that Alitalia is about to go under big time. I note that Travel Guard is still insuring Alitalia (though not for delays due to strikes.) Anyone know anything? -- Julie ********** Check out my Travel Pages (non-commercial) at http://www.dragonsholm.org/travel.htm |

I doubt that Alitalia will go under in May. Sure there are some problems, but there are many (long) ways/procedures to resolve them for the long run or to manage them in the short run. The only possible problem would be spontaneous strikes, which are not _that_ uncommon in summer in Italy/Greece/France, etc. But there's nothing one can do about that just sitting it out... Have fun!
