ATM Exchange Rate

I can get 795 euros per $1000 at my bank in the US now and was
wondering if anyone currently in Europe using their ATM cards can tell
me how many euros one can get there now using their ATM cards,i.e., how
many euros per thousand dollars.
The euro is down now and I plan to visit Europe a few times this year
and next year with my first trip soon for a couple weeks in Paris and
Rome.I was thinking about using my Everbank ATM debit card which has no
exchange fees to withdraw several thousand dollars in euros for the
future trips.
I know to keep the amount under $10,000 to avoid the currency reporting
requirements,and if the euro goes back up like I predict,I can save
money buying now rather then later.

I find it convenient to have a some (not $1K) in my pocket before

That's pretty bad; the interbank rate would ideally give you EUR
826. An ATM card from a bank that doesn't add a surcharge ought
to yield about EUR 818. One that adds a 2% surcharge would yield
about EUR 801. Not counting any $2 fees your bank charges for not
using their machine.

Don't forget the daily withdrawal limit; there will be one
imposed by your bank, and may be one imposed by the European
bank.

I have $1000 in euros in a safety deposit box that I bought last year
when the euro was down at $1.19 and will bring just $100 worth to start
but will hit the ATM machines daily to get my $500 daily limit.

Manhattan crime is different no finesse, Rome you won't even know they were
there, but hey the guy goes by "lucky" so who knows, maybe he has some

I simply can't imagine needing $500 a day in cash in Europe.
